The Literacy Council of North Timiskaming (LCNT) is a community-based organization that provides basic skill programming to help adult learners in Kirkland Lake and the wider North Timiskaming region accomplish their goals.

The basic and soft skills programs offered are:

• Digital Skills
• Numeracy
• Problem Solving
• Reading
• Writing

LCNT also offer programs for life skills: budgeting, money management, saving while grocery shopping, cooking, handling modern technology, how to read a pay stub, etc.
