Up With Women clients undergo a year-long intensive program of career and entrepreneurship-based one-on-one customized coaching, in-depth personality and emotional assessment tools, group-support sessions, and soft-skills development.

They partner clients with International Coaching Federation-certified coaches for twice-monthly career coaching. All coaches provide their services at pro-bono, thereby allowing Up With Women to deliver high quality service at a very low cost. One-on-on coaching is also supplemented by group peer learning sessions and referrals to other community resources, such as housing, legal and immigration. In addition to the main coaching program, graduates are offered the opportunity to continue their career development journey through such initiatives as the Community Leadership Program and a customized Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Program.

• The Culture, Confidence and Competence essential skills pre-employment training curriculum is designed to support Indigenous women’s economic security and career advancement across industries and in corporate sectors.

Indigenous Skill & Employment Training Strategy (ISETS)

• ISETS is a nationwide program that runs through the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC). This program works with participants, employers and institutes to ensure participants are engage in training programs that will directly lead to employment opportunities.

Skilled Trades

• Keepers of the Circle connects Indigenous women and gender-diverse people with employers and Unions in the skilled trades.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Skills

• Keepers of the Circle deliver training rooted in culturally-based practices that are designed to prepare and empower Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse peoples for jobs in the renewable energy and energy conservation sector.

Partnerships

• Keepers of the Circle has years of experience creating partnerships with community, industry and institutions that align with their values and the Sacred Teachings.

Intro and Intermediate Entrepreneurship Training

• In collaboration with Nordik Institute, they offer an 8 week program with the foundations of entrepreneurship.

Indigenous Women-Led Modular Factory

• currently in the process of construction an Indigenous women-led modular construction factory in Kirkland Lake that will construct pre-fabricated panels for homes and community buildings across Northern Ontario.

• Provides clients timely, accurate and relevant information on a broad range of topics covering various aspects of life in their community and in Canada. Also provides guidance with the following:
  • Individual and family settlement services
  • Community Connections
  • Informal language learning supports
  • School-Age children support
  • Canadian Citizenship applications
  • Accessing immigration documents
  • Document Certifications
  • Social activities and volunteer matching
  • Employment support
  • Professional document translation (fee for service)

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS)

• Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) acts as a bridge between schools and immigrant families. SWIS supports newcomer students and their families as they adjust to their school and community. SWIS offers guidance based on individual need of the family

Community Connections

• Under the Community Connections program, they facilitate a range of group sessions and workshops aimed at introducing newcomer clients to welcoming, safe and inclusive spaces, connecting clients with other newcomers and volunteers in the community, building newcomer support networks and promoting outreach and awareness.
