On June 5, the Far Northeast Training Board (FNETB) and Canadian Trad-Ex join forces with several local employment and training partners to offer a full day of information sharing and networking opportunities aimed at addressing the workforce needs of the mining industry.

Diversity in Mining (8:00 – 11:00 am in the Auditorium)

Starting with a breakfast at 8:00 am, this activity aims to promote resources and supports that are available to engage Indigenous people, women, and internationally trained professionals in mining. Breakfast will be followed by presentations, testimonials and exchanges on how various stakeholders can work together to increase labour force participation and help address the workforce needs of the mining industry.

Youth in mining forum (11:30 am – 2:00 pm in the Auditorium)

Lunch followed by round table (carrousel) presentations and networking between industry representatives and high school teachers and students. Industry will have an opportunity to inform teachers and students on the employment opportunities in mining and on the skills required to pursue a career in mining.
